Overconsumption

For this project, we were tasked with designing a circular, 12-inch clock's face that must tell accurate time. The content of the face had to be a visual interpretation of our social issue topic and how it connects to time. The clock also had to have one word that related to our content. My social issue topic was plastic pollution in our ocean, so I decided to focus on marine wildlife and the negative impacts of plastic. It is estimated that eight turtles die every hour due to plastic pollution. I wanted to reflect on the dire situation that plastic is having on our environment. Designed in Illustrator and created using acrylic sheets and birch plywood panels, implementing a laser cutter.
